jenscard3

I needed to make a birthday card for a friend today and as I was browsing around early this morning I saw a couple of cards using this weeks Diedrich’s Dare sketch and so I thought I’d give it a shot and I have to say it’s a FANTASTIC sketch. I’ll definitely be using it again. It was very easy to work with.

The sketch is DDSC09:

And I tried out a technique I’ve been wanting to do for a while today and OH MY am I in LOVE. I bought a Versamark Marker a couple of months ago with the intention of doing some selective embossing but have’t really had an image that struch my fancy but now that I’ve done one I think I’ll be hard pressed to find an image that doesn’t beg for it, lol.

So here is it is:

Please excuse the wonky ribbon on the left. I wiggled it a bit when I put it in the envelope and didn’t notice it until I’d already taken the pictures.

My acrylic Happy Birthday stamp was really not liking the Memento ink for what ever reason today but I sort of like the texture that it gave off so I went with it.

Here are the card details:

Stamp: Unity Stamp Co Oct09 KOM, Hampton Arts Everyday Sayings
Ink: Memento Black, Distress Ink Walnut Stain
Paper: Basic Grey, Bazzill Bling, PTI White, Bazzill Basics
Accessories: Martha Stewart Lattice Punch, Copic Markers, clear embossing powder, Versamark Marker, ribbon
