2012 Card Review!

Wow! It’s time for the 2012 Card Review! How much fun is it to go back through an entire year’s worth of cards and take a peek and what’s been accomplished and how my style has grown and changed! I had a TOUGH time picking only twelve favorites and it feels a bit like trying to pick a favorite child when picking my favorite cards, lol. But here goes!

January Favorite:

Thanks by Jen Shults

This card was made in January as part of my Dirty Dozen assignment on SplitCoastStampers. I know I just posted it here not to long ago but it was actually made in January. It’s funny because I think this stamp is my all time favorite. When I was looking through my stash of pictures, I think I could have easily picked 4 to 5 favorites that use this stamp from Tiddly Inks, lol.

February Favorite:

This card just makes me happy. I sent a whole package of these to my husbands great Aunt who is a nun. She’s always so happy to receive these cards and shares them with everyone near here. I always love to hear the stories she shares with me about who she sends them too. 🙂

March Favorite:

Happy Easter by Jen Shults

This little card uses another Tiddly Inks image and I love the sweet colors of this and it’s one of a very very few amount of cards that I’ve ever sewn on. I need to pull my little machine back out and give it more love, lol!

April Favorite:

Partly To Mostly Awesome by Jen Shults

This is a card I’ve never actually blogged but was part of my DD assignment (are you sensing a theme, lol). I am so happy with how this came out. I had a wild harebrained idea for what I wanted and it actually worked! I love the depth and layering of elements in this one. 🙂

May Favorite:

Thank You by Jen Shults

I don’t feel like I’m all that great at CAS and I definitely have to work at that style a great deal. This card came together in a way that I just couldn’t be happier about and I frequently have the urge to go back and make more of these so it’s a definite fave!

June Favorite:

Partly To Mostly Awesome by Jen Shults

I don’t think there is a happier combination than pink and Kraft, well that is unless you throw and adorable TGF Amelia stamp in there.  🙂

July Favorite:

Beary Special by Jen Shults

This card calls to me because I love that adorable bear image. He just makes me want to pick him up and give him a little squeeze!

August Favorite:

Hi by Jen Shults

This card is from my time with Verve as a guest designer. I love this card to pieces. That paper pad is one of my favorites ever and I really like how all the textures when together. 🙂

September Favorite:

Latte by Jen Shults

More pink and kraft!! This card showcases my first successful attempt at watercoloring a person so I’m super happy about that, not to mention it’s a super cute TGF Anya with a latte!

October Favorite:

I love the layout of this one so much. It’s a layout that Amy Sheffer designed for the Deconstructed Sketch and I’m so happy with how the whole thing came together!

November Favorite:

This sweet little card set surprised me. Like I mentioned before I struggle with CAS, mostly because I think I over think them A LOT. This little set just went together all on it’s own and has been such a useful addition to my card stash! You may be seeing more of this layout, lol!

December Favorite:

This last one is from a new Taylored Expressions stamp set that I ADORE. I’m sure you’ll be seeing TONS of this stamp set around these parts, lol!

Overall Favorite:

With Gratitude

This card just may be my all time favorite thing that I’ve designed ever. So much feeling went into this card and I am so so happy with how it came out. This was another DD card that I just recently posted here but was made in February. 🙂

Well that’s it! 2012 was a pretty good year and it’s so fun to look back and see what I made in the past year! Just looking back through this set it seems I have an affinity for pink that I didn’t realize I had, lol. It’s fun to see patterns like that develop that I didn’t even know were there. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what 2013 brings!

Happy New Year!
