7 Days of Love Day 7: Love YOU!

I’m a bit sad that we have reached the end of the seven days! I have been having so much fun making these cards each day with Sankari and sharing our creativity. It’s been such a good time! I’ve really enjoyed the push to create just because I want to create something which I am honestly not very good at. 🙂 Not to mention Sankari is just plain awesome and adore working with her!!!

My card today was inspired by a pile of twine I had sitting on my craft table, lol. I have to admit that it’s an unusual occurrence as I’m a bit of a neat freak about my desk (I know it doesn’t make sense at ALL, lol) and have to put everything away in between each card but for some reason I had left three rolls of twine out on my desk and I really like the color combination of dark brown, red and cream. I through green and kraft in there just because. 🙂 I had initially thought I might do something masculine but that got quickly derailed when I started pulling out dies that looked interesting for the card.

To start my card I started with a kraft cardbase and layered it with Buttercream Frosting cardstock that was also layered with a cut from the Floral Lattice Cutting Plate also in Buttercream Frosting (I REALLY love the look of the cutting plates cut and backed in the same color – it’s so crisp and clean). I then cut a banner using Banner Stacklets 1 out of Toffee cardstock. Next I cut the heart out of Cherry Pop cardstock using Heart Stacklets. The leaves are from the Leafy Branch die and are cut out of Basil cardstock with a little Copic coloring for accent. Next I layered on the curls cut from the Curly Swirlies dies and Chocolate Truffle cardstock. I actually cut two of the largest swirl for this and cut them into pieces so I could space them out how I wanted. The tiny flowers are from the Little Bits Flowers and Stems dies, each one is cut twice and layered with the petals of the top one bent upward a bit for dimension. The centers are white Sprinkles from Doodlebug. The word love is cut three times out of Chocolate Truffle cardstock and layered for thickness over a Buttercream Frosting Circle. To finish the sentiment I die cut the word you out of Chocolate Truffle cardstock using the Pockets and Pages February Script dies and I layered it on a heart cut from Cherry Pop using one of the Cupid’s Arrow dies. To finish everything off I added a few bits of sparkle using some Tiny Twinkles.
