Ben is just over 2.5. I think it may just be my favorite age. He’s cute, he’s sweet, he loves his mama (and dada) and he’s ornery as sin but the best part is that he’s hysterical.

Case in point a little conversation Ben had this morning. I wasn’t needed you see. (Try to read this in a little two year old voice… you know with over exaggerated consonants and really long vowel sounds.)

Ben: {splashing in some milk Evey left on the table}

Ben: Don’t do that!

Ben: Why?

Ben: Because you make mess.

Ben: Why?

Ben: Because I said so.

Ben: {splashes again}

Ben: Stop! You have time out.

Ben: Okay. {Walks to step for time out.}

I briefly wondered if I should be at all worried about the obvious amount of extra personalities running around in his head, but I’ll just chalk it up to a conscience that hasn’t learned to operate in silence for now.

Wouldn’t the world be a much better place if everyone had the self discipline of a 2.5 year old?
