TTIC39 – Your Everything

This week the lovely Alison has chosen our challenge theme and she has chose a good one! She based this week challenge on this chapter title from chapter 17 in Breaking Dawn: “What do I look like? The Wizard of Oz? You Need a Brain? You Need a Heart? Go Ahead. Take Mine. Take Everything I Have.” (page 329)

The middle section of Breaking Dawn was definitely my favorite if only for the chapter titles. Jacob’s sarcasm saved the book for me. How could I not continue reading with chapter titles like that?

So here are our two challenges:

Project portion: Show us who has given you their everything or who you’ve given everything to. Make a layout showing it, or a card to give that person, or even a gift just to say “thanks” or “I love you with all that I have.”

Comment portion: Who have you given you all to? Your kids? Someone sick? Who’s given their all to you? Your parents? A doctor? Tell us about that special relationship where someone has gone as far as they could with the gift of themselves.

For the project I decided I would set my focus on my kids. This card is for my daughter Evey. She’s my first born and the things that she has given me have by far out weighed anything I have ever given her (and if I say much more I’m going to get all weepy so I’m going to leave it there). Last week she specifically asked me to make her a card and she requested this paper so here it is:

I’m still going with the inked edges… I’m bent on perfecting that and I love this color combination. This is definitely a card made for Evey. She is everything girlie and cute and imaginative and fun and creative.

And I do have a card for Ben coming up but it was too late and dark to get a good photo last night when I was done so I’m going to wait until a little later today to add that to my post.

Now the comment part of this is sure to make me cry. I’m not sure I can avoid it. Who have I given my all to? Well, without a doubt my kids and husband. That’s just what you do when you are in these roles. I think the most obvious example of this has to be Ben. I don’t know that I’ve ever thought so little of me and so much of others as when he was born. There are so many people to be thankful for and who gave their all to him when he was born that I don’t have words enough to write about it. Even now, 2.5 years later, trying to grasp the depth of what so many people gave to him in those first few days puts a huge lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
