I’m continuing my note card collection today with a 4″x4″ card using stamps from the Artful INKable’s Into the Moonlight set.
This was a fun card to make and I’m really enjoying the challenge of making these 4″x4″ cards. They really present some interesting design challenges and really force me to think about making the image stand up enough to being the whole card.
So here is what I did: A started with the stamped image. I used Memento ink and Copics to color it. I added some clear embossing to the queen so it would stand out a bit. I’m a little sorry I did it because the powder has a bit of a yellowish cast to it and it diminished some of the details of the chess piece and I really like how it was colored but that’s how it goes some times, lol. Then I stamped a second image and colored the ribbon and cut it out and layered it on the queen with dimensionals. I finished it all of with some ribbon and that gorgeous silver paper.
The next stop on the hop is Lois Bak.

Despite your disclaimer about the yellowing effect, I really like the clear-embossed chess piece on your card.

Jen, I always love your projects! I think the card is just great and you really can’t see the yellow from the emboss on the pic, so no big. Maybe liquid glass would work? I know it is hard to control, but you’d get the same glossy effect. Just love the design and colors used. Thanks for the inspiration…it never fails when I visit you!
