OMG, how did it get to be Thursday already??? Seriously. Where did this week go? It was Monday 2 seconds ago. I swear this is the time of year that just poof disappears. February lasts forEVER but October through January 1, you blink and it’s over. Okay, enough of that from me. It’s time to find out who the winner of last week’s challenge is!!! Drum roll please……….

Congratulations:

Thank you to everyone who participated last week. There were so many lovely creations and I’m so happy that the big ‘ole triangle didn’t scare you off! So let’s get moving on to this week’s sketch!

This Week’s Sketch

Deconstructed Sketch 23Now that’s not so bad, is it?

Here’s my take on it using Birthday Boy Ian from The Greeting Farm.

I colored Ian with Copics to (mostly) match My Mind’s Eye’s Lime Twist Out of the Blue designer paper. I LOVE the bright colors of this paper. The circle comes from MFT’s First Place Ribbon stamp and Dienamics set.

I have had many many many requests for a hair coloring tutorial as of late so look out for one to be coming soon. I know there are a million out there but like they say… ask and you shall receive. :) Now, let’s move on to a little bit of big news…

DT Update:

I am very very sad to announce that one of our FANTASTIC dt members has had to step down. Miss Emma Eads is leaving us to pursue some new things personally and I am so sad to see her go but so hopeful that her new adventure turns out to be FANTASTIC! Please, if you have a moment stop by and visit her and wish her the best of luck. I hope we’ll be seeing her back amongst us in the future!

With that I would like to announce a special contest with this week’s sketch. We are looking for a GUEST DESIGNER to join us for three months, November thru January!!! If you have been enjoying the sketches and would like to join the Deconstructed Sketch Girls as a guest designer all you need to do to apply is create a card using this week’s sketch. As always there is no specific image requirement. To be considered please upload your card to InLinkz below by October 19, 2011 at 8 pm CST and include the word GUEST when typing in your name (example: Jen Shults Guest). That’s it! Easy peasy. The DS Girls and I will look over the entries and make an announcement on October 26, 2011.

Now why don’t we have a look at what the current Deconstructed Sketch girls had to say about this week’s sketch?

Your card is so cute! Did you have any problems coloring with your Copics on that textured paper? It doesn’t look like it…

  2. Jen says:

Hi Trina! No I don’t have any trouble coloring on this textured paper. It’s a bit more absorbent than other papers but it blends perfectly and I really like the texture. It’s not as nice for Prismacolors but I’ve used them on there too.
