Whoa! How on Earth did we get to number 40 so fast? It seems like we just started these sketches and here we are. We are going to be rounding up on a full year here pretty quick. Where does the time go?

Thank to everyone who is participating and hanging out with us each week. I do so very much enjoy looking at all your creations and am so happy you share them with us!

Here’s our sketch for this week:

And here’s what I did with it:

With this card I was aiming for a nice neutral birthday card to have sitting around in my stash… not to girlie but not to masculine as well. :)

I used Taylored Expressions It’s Your Birthday A La Carte and a sentiment from Moka Katie. The paper is from MME’s On the Bright Side (LOVE this stuff). I distressed here and there, sponged here and there but mostly kept it pretty simple and easy. :)

And here is a GORGEOUS sample from our AMAZING guest designer Amy Sheffer. :)

Want your sketches a little early? Follow the Deconstructed Sketch on Facebook!! And if you are looking for some older sketches to dig through you can find them in the Deconstructed Sketchbook.

Now it’s time to hop around and see what everyone else on the DT has been up to and leave them a little love.

LOVE this, Jen! Great colors/coloring on those birthday letters and balloons, and I love the rustic feel of the woodgrain and distressing. The twine bow with the eyelets is fab, too! Fantastic sketch!

  4. Love the card, Jen – great for any age and any gender! I used your sketch for a reason to play with my new Dear Lizzy papers and stamps! I love her Neapolitan line.
