CHAPTER 11: Little People…Big Wonderland

`Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Agreed to have a battle;
For Tweedledum said Tweedledee
Had spoiled his nice new rattle.

Just then flew down a monstrous crow,
As black as a tar-barrel;
Which frightened both the heroes so,
They quite forgot their quarrel.’

~ Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Hello and welcome back!  This week, we are SUPER excited to tell you that we are being sponsored by the fabulous BUGABOO Stamps!  The owner, Jodie, was just as sweet as can be and when she offered to sponsor Oh, Alice we were thrilled!

Since we are talking about those two curious little Tweedles, Dee and Dum today, let’s get right down to your mission this week, should you choose to accept it!   CREATE a card, layout, or project for a CHILD.  This can mean using children’s images, making a layout of a child, creating a kid’s bday card or room decor, you name it!  The possibilities are endless!

Alrighty! I have to first say, oh my word, do I love these Bugaboo stamps. I’d never seen them until Jess told us they were sponsoring and so I went to check them out and my checkbook is certainly a bit lighter now, lol. I love them because the images are not intimidating to color and they are just dang cute! Thanks Jodie for letting us play with these!

Now my project…

Now I had intended to start out with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch but I have to tell you there’s not a sketch around that I can’t change once I get started lol. So you can sort of see the bones of the sketch in there but it’s pretty different. When I picked this image I immediately thought of this paper. I found it at Hobby Lobby for $.25 a sheet on clearance (and I wish I’d bought more than 2 sheets, lol). And it’s just perfect for this. I colored this Storybook Queen with Copics and then cut her out and popped her up on Pop Dots. Her circle is cut from 2 Nesties and then sponged with Barn Door Distress Ink.

Here’s a closeup of the coloring. I tried something new with her hair and I think I’m in love, lol. I’ve also found a new shadowing color that I LOVE… I switched to Mauve Shadow (BV00) and I think it has a more natural look than the grays, and it keeps me honest since I’m always telling my students to use purples to mix shadows rather than black. :D
