Flutterby Wednesday – Friendship

How did it get to be Wednesday already? Seriously? HOW? LOL!! I have been a busy bee this week with work and kids and this and that. But somewhere in all that’s been going on I found time to color this gorgeous angel from Mo’s Digital Pencil called Ragged Angel. Isn’t she absolutely gorgeous?

I printed her out on Southworth Linen Coverstock and colored her with Copics. The paper is from My Mind’s Eye Stella and Rose Mabel collection. It’s completely possible that I’ve been hoarding this paper because I adore the colors. I tried to give everything a nice shabby feel by sponging and distressing the edges and using a bit of seam binding died to match the sponging with Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Stain. I added a bit of doodling to the edges and it’s all finished up.

Our theme at Flutterby this week is friendship and I hope this works for that. I didn’t have a sentiment that fit with what I was trying to do with the card and the size of the image, lol. I printed her a bit huge. But I’m hoping the point comes across with the image alone. :)

If you’d like to join us this week for Flutterby Wednesday you can get the full details here! Leanne is our guest designer this week so be sure to stop by and say hi!

Just For You

Happy Tuesday! I’m popping in really quick to share a card I made last night. It’s actually not the card I intended to make but this cute little elf kept taunting me from my paper stack. I’d colored him up last week and hadn’t had a chance to use him yet and I orginally sat down to make something  a little more masculine, okay a lot more masculine but I really love the way this came out… definitely a happy change of plans. :D

Sticky

For this card I used Sticky from Mo’s Digital Pencil and colored him with Prismacolors and OMS. The layout is from this week’s Viva La Verve sketch by Amy Sheffer. I really like this sketch. It was super easy to adapt to this larger focal image and it worked great with this Verve sentiment from Glad Tidings. I used my absolute FAVORITE Holiday designer paper… Tinsel and Twig from the Girl’s Paperie and a little bit of washi tape from The Greeting Farm. The snowflake is Martha Stewart and I can’t remember who makes the snowflake brad. Here’s the sketch:

And here’s a close up of the coloring on Sticky:

I’m still plugging away on Christmas cards so I’ll probably be back tomorrow with another one. :D I like to get a head start on the next year while I’m still in the Christmas spirit. :D
