You Make Me Smile

Well, it’s Saturday and you know what that means? It’s time for another Saturday Sketch over at Club Anya and Friends. I don’t know about you but I have been so busy these last couple of weeks, I’m ready for some time off. With the semester winding down at work and Christmas ramping up at home I’m a bit frazzled, but I’m so excited for Christmas this year. My little ones are at just the perfect age that they are really enjoying every bit of Christmas. This weekend is the big baking weekend at our house so come Monday we will have a big pile of goodies to share. :D

Cheeky Cherry Pie

Now lets talk sketches. Here’s our Club Anya and Friends Sketch this week. I really like this sketch. It was really easy to whip up a card using it. For my card I used Cheeky Cherry Pie, part of the December release at The Greeting Farm and I colored her with Prismacolors and OMS. Now I do have to confess… I am not a huge fan of the way I colored her hair. It was a little dark down in our basement when I was coloring this and I got a little carried away with the reddish brown and it came out looking a bit like a bad dye job instead of auburn like I was hoping but not bad enough that I was willing to scrap it and start again. And next time I’ll have it down… it’s a good mistake. :D

When I was picking out paper I went straight for my Thrift Shop pad from October Afternoon because it just fits the 50′s feel of this Cheeky just perfectly. I distressed everything with a little Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and added a bit of twine and copper brads. The edge punch I used is EK success Arch Scalloped edger punch and the corner is also and EK Victorian Photo corner punch. The little sentiment tag is made using an Classic Oval Small Nestie with a Scalloped Circle Nestie behind it.

A Fuzzy Wuzzy Saturday Sketch!

Howdy all! I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday!! Did you get lots of shopping done yesterday? I’m not a big Black Friday shopper but I know lots of you are. :D I hope you faired well. :D It’s Saturday Sketch time and today we’ve got a special extra bonus for you… a sneak peak at an adorable new Oliver and Amelia set that will be available Dec 1 from The Greeting Farm. These two are all bundled up and ready for some winter weather (I wish I was, lol.). These two are definitely and adorable must have! You can grab these cuties right after the Greeting Farm blog hop on Nov. 30 at midnight!

Here’s our sketch for this week:

For my card I used Amelia from the Fuzzy Wuzzy set and stamped her on Strathmore Bristol smooth finish (300 series) and colored her with Prismacolors and a bit of OMS. I cut her out with a Classic Circle Large die and then got to sponging away. I’ll admit to being more than a bit adicted to Anna Maria’s masking and grunging tutorial. I just adore the way it looks to I did a bit of that here as well using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pumice Stone and his Bitty Grunge stamps. The background papers are PTI kraft stock and Basic Grey’s Jovial Designer Paper. I added a bit if twine and some gorgeous Washi tape from The Greeting Farm. I LOVE this stuff. The sentiment stamped in the corner is also included in this super cute set!

Be sure to visit all of the FABULOUS Farmers and the Club Anya and Friends team to get a sneak peak at the rest of the set! AND be sure to stop by Club Anya and Friends. One lucky commenter will win this gorgeous set!
