Pocket Full of Posies

Pocket Full Of PosiesIt’s Dare To Be Sassy Thursday over at Sassy Studio Designs and our challenge this week is to create a card that uses flower and has a pocket… hence Pocket Full of Posies.

For my card this week I used Hippie Chic and colored her with Copics. This has to be my very favorite image of Lindsay’s… she’s my go to image, lol. I have to confess that she’s been colored for quite a while so I don’t know what Copic numbers I used.

After I colored her I cut her out and layer her on pale pink and green Bazzill Bling cardstock. The designer paper is My Mind’s Eye Abbey Road. I just love the huge dots mixed together with the tiny ones. I added a bunch of paper flowers. These were a bonus from Jess when I bought my Ippity stamps and I’ve about used them up. :( I’m sad because it was the best random mix of flowers ever and I’ve been using them like mad. The flower centers are Recollections brads. I punched the edges of the papers with my Fiskars 2 in 1 corner rounder and a Martha Stewart edge punch.

insideThe pocket of the card is on the inside. The sentiment panel doubles as a gift card pocket.

The sentiments on the card are from Hampton Arts and are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

We are off to Chicago today for a short family holiday break. We leave really early this morning so buy the time this posts we’ll be getting ready to board a train! I’m planning on taking a ton of photos so hopefully I’ll have fun pics to share when we return. I hope everyone has a great day and be sure to head over to Sassy Studio’s to get the rest of the details on today’s challenge!

Stay tuned for Saturday’s Oh, Alice! challenge! I have a secret surprise for that day!!

We’re Painting the Roses Red

It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for a little Oh, Alice! This week our dear Mad Hatter, Jess, has given us a fantastic challenge and I am SOOO excited about my card. I really pushed myself on this one and I LOVE it. :D

So here is the challenge…

“Would you tell me please,” said Alice a little timidly, “Why are you painting those roses?”
Five and Seven said nothing, but looked at Two.  Two began in a low voice, “Why the fact is, you see, Miss, this here ought to have been a Red rose tree, and we put a white one in by mistake”…

Welcome back!  We’re painting the Roses RED…and blue…and purple….and hey, we’re painting our NAILS too!   Check out this AWESOMELY ALICE inspiration picture featuring this SUPER cool new O.P.I. Polish collection, “Wonderland”.

Oh, Alice colors

We also had the wonderful opportunity to work with the new line from Kraftin’ Kimmie and oh, my are they AWESOME! I chose Giselle to work with and she was a ton of fun to color. I colored her in traditional Alice colors with a pink twist. (p.s. my photo stink, my slr’s battery was dead so I had to use the little one. I’m going to take new ones tomorrow when the battery is back to life. Now UPDATED!!! And much better color, lol. :D )

I colored her with Prismas and OMS. I used a variety of papers, the purple dp is BoBunny and the pink polka dots are from My Mind’s Eye Abbey Road, and the butterflies and leaves are some designer paper Jess sent me with some Ippity stamps I ordered from her. :D The rest is Bazzill cardstock.

I embellished the heck out of this with paper flowers (again from Jess), Sassy Studio Designs mushrooms, ribbon (from Jess), MS tripple butterfly punch and branch punch and a bit of sparkle from a Sakura Stardust pen.

Here are some close ups!
