TTIC 61 – Touchy Feely Valentine

valentinetexture2

This weeks Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge is brought to use by Donna and here’s what Donna had to say:

Craft Portion: Make a VALENTINE’S card/project for your favourite character or for YOUR valentine… but…. with texture!! That’s right I want you to add things like lace, raised embossing, distressed edges, fuzzy fibres, metal, cloth, cracked glass, leather, flower soft, sandpaper, anything that adds texture!

Comment Portion: Tell us your favourite Valentine’s story…Or if you haven’t got one, Tell us who you would like to snuggle up on Valentine’s day with from the Twilight Saga..

Well… I’ve made so many Edward cards recently that I decided to make something based on my second favorite character… Emmett. Of course I had to go with Wild Sprout Dressy Joyce from the Greeting Farm because Emmett’s favorite thing is definitely Rosalie. I colored Joyce with Copics and then pulled out my PTI Simple Valentine paper and PTI Raspberry Fizz cardstock and got to work.

To add texture I cut some hearts with my Slice Basics 1 design card and then used my Sissix Floral Flourishes and Vines embossing folder to add texture to the hearts. I stamped on the sentiment from using Versafine Black ink.  Then I cut Joyce out and popped her up on dimensionals and voila. :D

Now my favorite Valentine’s story… well I’d have to say that was the year that Chris surprised me with diamond earrings. As a rule we are NOT big Valentine’s day celebrators. We do small stuff for each other but we don’t go crazy as our wedding anniversary isn’t that far after Valentine’s day and I’d rather put my effort there. But this one morning I woke up on a normal work day that just happened to be Valentine’s Day to find a bag on my bedside table and inside was a small jewelry box with a pair of gorgeous diamond earrings. I was so stunned and touched that he did such a grand thing out of the blue. I was absolutely surprised because I had no idea at all. :D

TTIC Color Challenge 2 – Thoughts of Bella

This week our color challenge is based on Bella:

Here’s what Alison said:

Hello! Happy Tuesday! Alison here with our Second Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge! This week, my colors were inspired by Bella. I chose Garnet because originally, that was her favorite gemstone (before she went & changed it to Topaz for Edward’s eyes!). Next, I picked Phoenix Sky Blue because Bella frequently mentions how she misses the colors of her hometown. Lastly, I decided that we need to throw a neutral into the mix, so I picked Forks’ Sky. It’s a grayish green. Don’t get too thrown by the shade I chose… if you just use a regular gray, that’s fine! But if you wanna try to really wow us… go for this a little more interesting, if not a wee bit dreary color! Can’t wait to see your creations!!!

So here’s what I came up with:

I used Charlotte from The Greeting Farm’s CHA Relay… how cute is she?? And colored her with copics to match my Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper which just happened to have all of Alison’s color choices in it… barely. :D

You can see the garnet in the polka dots and her shirt, the Pheonix sky in her jeans and in the tiny blue flowers and you can see the Forks sky in her belt and in the grey/green background paper that photographed more yellow than it really is. I really loved this color challenge! It was so fun!!!

I also tried to incorporate Dani’s TTSC18

TTSC18

I admittedly didn’t use quite all of the sketch but I tried! I just couldn’t make it come together the way I was envisioning in my head. :(
