CHAPTER 8: You can learn a lot of things from the FLOWERS…

`Never mind!’ Alice said in a soothing tone, and stooping down to the daisies, who were just beginning again, she whispered, `If you don’t hold your tongues, I’ll pick you!’

There was silence in a moment, and several of the pink daisies turned white.

`That’s right!’ said the Tiger-lily. `The daisies are worst of all. When one speaks, they all begin together, and it’s enough to make one wither to hear the way they go on!’

`How is it you can all talk so nicely?’ Alice said, hoping to get it into a better temper by a compliment. `I’ve been in many gardens before, but none of the flowers could talk.’

Hello everyone!  What a sweet, sunny sign of Spring it is when all of our floral friends come out to play!   Here at Oh, Alice!, we definitely agree with Alice that you can learn a lot of things from the flowers!  This week’s challenge?  You got it!   USE FLOWERS on your card or project!

Here’s my project. It’s way way way busier that I normally make for cards but I really like it. And these colors are way out of the norm for me. After I got the stamp colored I was seriously thinking to myself… “Jen, the 80’s called… they want their beach house color scheme back.” but I think it works. 😀

I finally got a chance to use some of my Sweet Pea stamps that I’ve been hoarding, lol. This one is ching-chou kuik’s Dark Royalty and I colored her with Copics. The designer paper is Basic Grey Kioshi and I have to admit that I don’t love this paper but I bought some on a whim any how and I think it worked perfectly with this image and I’m glad I had it because I colored her without really planning my papers ahead… it all just works out sometimes doesn’t it?

I did a little shopping today and discovered a couple of fun things at Michael’s in the wedding section. One was a package of small white and cream paper flowers with something crazy like 230 flowers in it for $4.00 the other was the pearl tipped little strings that they use in corsages. I grabbed a pack of both and use them in the flower cluster. I colored the little flowers and the yellow flowers with Copics to match the colors in the card. And the sentiment is one I picked up from the Studio G by Hampton Arts dollar bin at Michael’s, you better hurry because those will go fast. They had a whole bunch of great single word sentiments with flowers and such to go with them. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa and it turned out fabulously transparent which I was not expecting but I really love it. Alright, enough of my rambling. 😀
