Deconstructed Sketch No. 102

Deconstructed Sketch 102

Hi everyone! I hope your Thursday is shaping up to be a good one! Today is my last day of school for the 2012-13 school year and our last big show of the year. We’ve just wrapped up finals and just yesterday I put the finishing touches on the last prop for the end of the school year variety show. I can’t wait to see how the show turns out and am ready to get started on some big plans for summer vacation! What are you going to be up to this summer?

Alright, back to business…

Sketch Guidelines:

Are you ready for Deconstructed Sketch 102? I hope you like it! Here’s the scoop on what you need to do:

1. Use the sketch up top to make a project, any kind you like using any image you like. Use the sketch to inspire your own creativity. Feel free to substitute shapes for what you have available and mount tags and circles to a card base if you’d prefer.

2. Post it somewhere on the internet (your blog, SCS, Flickr, etc). Use keyword DS102 if you post to an online gallery like Splitcoaststampers.

3. Link back here to Inlinkz at the bottom of the post so I can stop by and see it.

4. Check back here next week to see if you are one of this week’s favorites and grab a badge for your blog.

For my card I used Verve’s On Occassion stamp set. I love this set! It’s so versatile!! I stamped the three flower stamps in the set on patterned paper from Authentique’s Hope 8×8 pad and then cut them out and watercolored over them a little with a Tombow blender pen and Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I added a clear dew drop dot to the middle of the flower and separated the layers with foam tape. The sentiment is also from On Occasion and is stamped on the same patterned paper as the flowers  – just no extra inking on this part. The background is kraft cardstock embossed with Cuttlebug’s Herringbone embossing folder. All the papers have been inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and distressed with scissors. To finish off I added two buttons with twine  – I flipped these over to the other side of the card to balance the flower a bit better.
