Deconstructed Sketch No. 103

Deconstructed Sketch No. 103

It’s officially summer break around here and I am so happy to be back to my natural sleep schedule. I get so much more accomplished with my up until midnight wake at 7 am schedule than my up until 10:30 (okay who am I kidding 11) wake at 5:15 am work schedule. It’s still busy around here as we are getting ready to move! We close in two weeks so it’s super crazy around here. 🙂 Now let’s get down to business!

Sketch Guidelines:

Are you ready for Deconstructed Sketch 103? I hope you like it! Here’s the scoop on what you need to do:

1. Use the sketch up top to make a project, any kind you like using any image you like. Use the sketch to inspire your own creativity. Feel free to substitute shapes for what you have available and mount tags and circles to a card base if you’d prefer.

2. Post it somewhere on the internet (your blog, SCS, Flickr, etc). Use keyword DS103 if you post to an online gallery like Splitcoaststampers.

3. Link back here to Inlinkz at the bottom of the post so I can stop by and see it.

4. Check back here next week to see if you are one of this week’s favorites and grab a badge for your blog.

You make my heart happy

For my card I used two of my all time favorite Taylored Expressions stamps sets, Valentine Doodles and Happy Heart. I started with a kraft cardbase and layered it with a bit of Doodlebug Flowerbox 6×6 paper matted in pink. The ric-rac border was layered over the seam of the two pieces of background patterned paper. I stamped the sentiment on Choice Snow White cardstock using Rose Bud Memento Ink and then stamped the heart/arrow using Angel Pink Memento Ink. These were die cut using Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals. The banners are cut using Banner Stacklets 1 dies and embossed using a Sizzix embossing folder. The card was finished off with a bit of twine thread and a Recollections flower enhanced with a bit of Stardust Stickles.
