Deconstructed Sketch No. 54
Wow! How did we get to sketch no. 54? Seriously time goes by so fast!
So, as you guys read this I’m doing one of three things… freaking out about my impending root canal, getting my root canal or sleeping off the sedative afterwards. That’s right sedative. This will be root canal attempt number 2. Who knew that the germ guard they wrap around your tooth could cause claustrophobia? Panic attack causing claustrophobia? Not me. Well I do now. But Tuesday I didn’t… I didn’t know that until I’d already gotten the three numbing shots that go with a root canal. Brilliant I tell, ya. So today we get to try again. And this time I get to sleep through it. But I’m still freaking out a bit. Yay me. Alright… let us move on, shall we? ‘Cause I just know some of you are freaking out with me and the rest of you are rolling your eyes. I don’t enjoy those folks so much right now. And I really like to like my Deconstructed Sketch friends so lets move on to happier topics… like sketches.
Here is my sample:
I started my card with Far Out by Taylored Expressions stamped using Brilliance Graphite Black on watercolor paper. I used Distress Markers and a waterbrush to color the image and then die cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Circle Large die. The designer paper is Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane. The white paper is embossed with a Houndstooth/Damask Impression Plate. I used the Sprockets Border die in between the layers for a bit more texture and added a bit of sewing using my Janome Sew Mini.
I have to say this was a great success because my son saw the finished card on my desk and scooped it up and said “This is so cool Mom! Can I have it?” Of course, lol.
And here is Judy Rozema’s fantastic sample.
Don’t you just love all that fabulous stitching! Amazing!
