Hello & Thank You Foiling Techniques!

Hi everyone! Today I have two fun cards to share with you using Taylored Expressions stamps and dies with Therm O Web foiling products. I’m testing out a couple of different techniques today and hopefully one of them will inspire you!

Deco Foil and Taylored Expressions handmade cards

The first card I’d like to share today uses Therm O Web’s wonderful toner sheets and transfer foil sheets together. I used the Magenta and Lilac transfer sheets – I love these fun colors!

I started my card with a Sugar Cube cardbase. I cut two 3/4″ by 4.25″ strips of grey stripe patterned paper for the top and bottom of the card and adhered these to the cardbase. Next I cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of watercolor cardstock and stamped the Heart of Hearts large heart on the watercolor cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I watercolored over the heart using the wet on wet technique using Barn Door and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. Next I stamped the sentiment on Oreo cardstock using Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. To make the foil hearts I cut two small squares of Therm O Web Toner Sheets that were big enough to die cut the hearts from. I then cut similar piece of the Transfer Foils and ran them through my laminator. After the squares were foiled I die cut them with the heart dies. I found that the edges of the die cuts were much crisper if I die cut them after foiling instead of in the reverse. To finish the card I assembled everything using foam tape and I was done!

For my second project I wanted to try using the transfer foils with a stamped image and with the adhesive pen.

Hello handmade card, Deco Foil & Taylored Expressions

I used the magenta Deco Foil on this second card as well. To start my card I cut a Sugar Cube cardbase and attached a piece of grey diagonal striped patterned paper to the left side of my card. I then cut a 3.5″ x 5.5″ piece of Sugar Cube that I edged on the left side with the Therm O Web Deco Foil Adhesive Pen. I then cut a thin strip of magenta Deco Foil and applied it over the top of the adhesive strip. I ran this through my laminator just to be safe. This left a fun foil strip down the edge of the Sugar Cube cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment in the middle of the same cardstock piece using Versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. To foil this area I cut a small rectangle of magenta Deco Foil to cover the stamp and ran this through my laminator. When it came out of the machine the foil was adhered to the embossed sentiment! To finish the card I added some flowers cut using the Mini Bloomers and Bloomer Greenery die sets. I added some Doodlebug Glitter Sprinkles in Lily White around the card and to the flower centers.
