Love Fest – Thank You

Zentangled Thank You, handmade card by Jen Shults

It’s LoveFest time over at Splitcoaststampers and Taylored Expressions is hosting one of the challenges! You can read exactly what the challenge is here (and find out what the prizes are!).

For my card I actually started things a little backwards. I made the layout first and then decided I wanted to Zentangle the main white panel so after all of the other pieces were already cut out and partially assembled I took the white panel upstairs out of the craft cave to the dining room table and set out doodling all sorts of flowers. My inspiration came from this YouTube video by mikiverevikim. She has a wonderful collection of doodle videos that I just adore!

After the doodled background was done the card went together in a snap and I LOVE how it came out. I Zentangle a LOT but rarely do anything with the finished product. Now I think I’ve found an avenue to connect to things I love. 🙂

Beautiful card. I was able to make something similar with a background stamp (had never stamped it in black) and scraps of black and vellum (no dies needed). thanks for the inspiration.

Zentangle is huge over here in Europe but I’ve never seen it incorporated into a card before! Great idea and your card is beautiful!
