Oodles of Ripples

Ripple Blanket for Baby

I have been holding on to these photos for a while now waiting to share them but I wanted to make sure that the recipient received this first. 🙂 I found a wonderful crochet pattern over at Attic 24 for a very customizable ripple blanket. It’s so fast to crochet and very easy to customize to be whatever size you need. I happened to make this one square and finished it with a scalloped edge.

I went a bit around the bend of traditional baby girl colors for this blanket but my thinking was that I have an 9 year old girl who still loves to cuddle up with her crochet blanket that I made her 9 years ago and I’m hoping this one stands the test of time just as well. And it’s 9 year old approved because Evey was hard pressed to let me give it away. 🙂

I used Vanna’s Choice worsted weight yarn for this and I have to say I don’t think I’m a fan. It’s durable enough – that’s not the problem, the problem was there were loads and loads of end to end knots throughout the yarn and a noticeable difference in yarn weight from one color to another, otherwise it worked out just great. 🙂

Now it’s time to get started on my next project. 🙂
