Wow, this week has FLOWN by! But I have to say I am pretty good with that because as of today there are 7 days of school left… WOOHOO! Now, I’m use you all want me to get on with announcing our winner so I won’t make you wait! Our winner of the FABULOUS Ribbon Carousel Kit Subscription is… Sally! Congratulations Sally! Please email me at jenevey at gmail dot com and I’ll let you know how to claim your prize. :)

Now here is DS51!

And here is my take on it:

I’ve been on a HUGE clean and simple card kick the last few nights and this is another one to add to the bunch. For my card I decided to shrink the top panel of the sketch to fit the Prima flower I had on hand. The paper is from MME’s Lost and Found Breeze 6×6 pad. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and embossed with white embossing powder. I had a bit of trouble getting this to emboss evenly but it turned out okay. That white embossing powder wanted to stick to EVERYTHING, lol.

And now here is our first card from our brand new and FANTASTIC guest designer Judy Rozema.

I’ve been working on making a few thank you cards for a friend who needs quite a few of them. This set of two I made on Monday night. :) I’m trying to keep them pretty clean and simple so I can get them knocked out faster. I’m happy to say that this set only took about half an hour to make and most of that time was just figuring out the layout.

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler
Paper: Choice Snow White, Kraft, Bazzill Hillary
Accessories: Prima flower, May Arts twine thread, Martha Stewart Rose Leaf Punch, Tonic Distress Tool, Foam Tape, 3M Quick Dry Adhesive

I was going to wait to post this until I had a card made with the image but I just can’t wait! Taylor has Distress Markers in her store over at Taylored Expressions! Well when she emailed me and told me that she was going to be getting them in I put in an order for the full set because we all know I love me some coloring mediums. So… they arrived just a couple of days ago but I had to wait to play with them. :( Today I found some watercolor paper and some time and got to work and here is what I came up with:

Daisy by Jen Shults

I stamped the large daisy from the Oops a Daisy stamp set on Canson 90# watercolor paper using Palette Hybrid ink in Noir. Then armed with a small waterbrush and my Distress Markers I started watercoloring. Here are the markers I used:

Flower Center: Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Vintage Photo
Petals: Weathered Wood, Pumice Stone, Dusty Concord (shadows)
Leaves: Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Dusty Concord (shadows)
Glow: Scattered Straw

I tend to like my watercolor to look a little watercolorish, lol so I don’t smooth it as much as I could. I’m going to work on getting a video tutorial together soon on coloring these flowers. :)

Who’s ready to shop?!? It’s release day!!

I’ve got two more samples to share with you today! One uses the super fun Father’s day digi and I have another cute little creation using All Aboard! Are you ready?

Happy Father's Day by Jen Shults

For this father’s day card I used the brand new Father’s Day digi and printed it out on Choice SnowWhite cardstock and I printed it a second time on designer paper so I could paper piece the tie. I die cut the image using a Spellbinder’s Label 4 die and to make the matte for the die cut I traced around the outside edge of the die and hand cut the matte. This was then sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and distressed. I then layered up a bunch of papers from this month’s Loyal Project Pantry Kit (I LOVE this kit… I’ve made 4 cards from it so far and I’ve got TONS of paper left for more!). I to finish it all up I added a bit of ribbon from the kit and a few buttons from my stash.

Happy Birthday by Jen Shults

For my second card I created a side stairstep card using a tutorial I found on Splitcoaststampers. I used Simple Stories gorgeous Fabulous paper pad. I started everything out by stamping the train, girl conductor and crossing sign from the All Aboard stamp set. I colored the train, conductor and sign with Copics and cut them out. I used the Cloud Duo dies, Grass Border die and Train Track Die to add more to the scene. I propped the clouds and conductor up on foam tape to add dimension.

Lastly to make is just a bit more girly I used some Smooch Glitz on the pink parts of the scene. :)

Taylored Dies used on these cards:

Cloud Duo Dies   Grass Border Die     Train Track Border die

That’s it for me today! I hope you have enjoyed this release! I LOVE it!!!
