Sweet Pea Spring Challenge

I’m so excited! I finally finished my first Sweet Pea card using ©ching-chou kuik’s Dance of Butterfly. I really love this image and she was challenging yet very fun to color. And I have to admit to being very thankful for coloring samples over on the Sweet Pea blog because I was about 75% done with it but hadn’t colored the tail of the mermaid yet because I wasn’t exactly sure if it was a tail, lol. I also have to admit that I colored this before I picked out my papers so there is quite the random assortment of papers in this. The Sweet Pea Challenge this week is Spring using Pink, Yellow, and Green along with flowers.

I colored the image with Prismacolors and OMS and added a bit of sparkle that I could not get to photograph at all with a Sakura Clear Stardust pen. The papers are My Minds Eye Abbey Road (pink polka dots) and Cosmo Cricket Ever After (the yellow) and Bazzill cardstock. The flowers are from a bag of embellies that Jess sent me but I think they are Prima. I added some texture to the designer paper using a Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder and a Sizzix Heart Swirl folder. And of course my new favorite things… my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and branch punch. I was just back at Michael’s today eying some other leaf, flower and butterfly punches I want. I’ve walked passed them a million times and never purchased them but now I’m addicted, lol.
