With Sympathy
Happy Friday! It’s time for a new Viva La Verve challenge and this week Julee is our sketch artist! We have both a sketch and color palette for you this week. 🙂
For my card I used just the sketch. I started with four different colors of cardstock – kraft, grey, a not quite red and a seafoam green. I cut all the background elements, embossed the green with a quatrefoil embossing folder from Paper Studio and assembled the banner borders at the bottom using the Pennant Trim Die and Scalloped Trim Trio Dies. Next I die cut the white circle and stamped it with the leaves from New Mercies using Peanut Brittle Memento ink. The brown was a little harsher than I was hoping for so I layered it with vellum. I stamped the sentiment using Frost White on kraft and die cut it using Reverse Confetti’s Tag Me dies. The flower is made from Surely Goodness and the Goodness Flower Dies and Scalloped Flower Dies. I stamped the small flower from Surely Goodness onto the reddish cardstock using Love Letter Memento ink. To put the flower together I used a bit of foam tape in between the layers and added a button with twine accent. The gray leaves are cut using the Mini Leaves Die from Taylored Expressions.
Be sure to head over to the Viva la Verve blog for more inspirations and details on the prize for April!
