Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peek: A Glimpse Inside and Made in the Shade

Baker's Window by Jen Shults

It’s time for April Taylored Expressions Previews! I know I’m super excited about the new stamp sets and dies that will soon be available! Today I’m previewing two new stamps sets… A Glimpse Inside and Made in the Shade.

A Glimpse Inside is a companion set to last month’s From My Window stamp set, this time with a look inside. 🙂 For my project I used the bakery scene. I’m on a bit of a clean and simple kick right now so I kept my card nice and simple. I used MME Collectable Memorable for my patterned paper and created a scene with the new Picture Window die and coordinating Window Accessories Dies and Flower Box Flowers and Sprigs. The background panel is cut using Label Stacklets 3. To help give the window a bit of a glass look I covered the glass in Glossy Accents and let it dry. It filled in nicely to give a nice shiny finish. I layered the window box on with foam tape and a bit of glue to hold it all together.

For my second card I am showing off the wonderful new Made in the Shade stamp set. Made in the shade is a super fun stamp set that has a coordinating Shade Tree Cutting Plate that can be used with the stamp set or alone. For my projects below I used the stamps by themselves without the cutting plate.

Happy Haunting by Jen Shults

For my projects I decided that these images were just begging to be watercolored so I stamped them on Choice Watercolor paper and used my Distress Markers to watercolor them.  I left the scenes pretty open and just added a bit of accent in the upper left. On my Halloween scene I used Banner Stacklets 2 for the sentiment banner and added the Spiders and Spiderweb die cut over the top. To give the spiderweb a bit of OOMPH I added a bit of glow in the dark Martha Stewart Glitter. The sentiment is from Fangtastic.

On my farm scene I used Banner Stacklets 2 for the sentiment banner and used the dies from the Sunny Days stamp and die set to create the sun and clouds. The sentiment is from Green Acres.

Well that’s it for me today! I hope you enjoyed today’s previews! Be sure to hop around and see what the rest of the Baker’s Dozen has been up to!
