It’s Taylored Expressions August Release time and OH MY WORD is this a giant release filled with so many funny stamps and dies! You are going to LOVE it!
I am starting off to today with previews of some new dies – the Build a Scene Dies. There are 4 sets of companion dies that all coordinate perfectly together to be the base of any outdoor scene. In my card above I used all four: Build a Scene Mountain Tops, Build a Scene Rolling Hills, Build a Scene Sunshine and Build a Scene Swirly Clouds. To make my card I used different colors of Bazzill cardstock scraps in colors fitting a landscape. After die cutting all the pieces I sponged the edges with coordinating inks (found below). I then layered it all together separating the different layers with foam tape. To finish it off added a bit of Stardust Stickles to the mountain tops snow and used some twine and a button to embellish the sentiment (from the new Zinnia Bouquet stamp set) that was die cut using the smallest Banner Stacklets 1 die.
For my second project I used a gorgeous new addition to the flower bouquet series – Zinnia Bouquet. I LOVE this set. It’s so fun and easy to color and I love the little bucket the flowers are sitting in, not to mention this stamp lends itself to a nice bright cheery little card. 🙂
For my card I started out by stamping the image in Colorbox Black ink on Choice Watercolor cardstock. I then heat embossed it with Detail Black Embossing Powder (Ranger). I used Distress Markers to color this along with a small tipped waterbrush. The card base is made from Choice Kraft Cardstock and layered with Simple Stories Vintage Bliss paper (LOVE!!!). I added the border using the Lace Chain Border die. The focal image and matte are cut using Label Stacklets 2. I used Hexagon Stacklets to die cut the sentiment. Everything is sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Ranger) and I distressed the edges a bit here and there to give it a more shabby feel.
Well that’s it for me today! I hope you’ll hop around and check out what the rest of the Baker’s Dozen is featuring today!
