Taylored Expressions February Spotlights: He is Risen and Whimsy Alpha Dies

It’s February Spotlight day at Taylored Expressions. Today I’m using the He is Risen stamp set as well as a whole bunch of dies.

For my card I started with a Choice Snow White Cardbase and MME’s The Sweetest Thing Tangerine paper (I know, I know… they make other paper but I have to ask the question… why use it if I really LOVE this paper pad) and this week’s MojoMonday sketch. I stamped this sentiment from He is Risen and die cut it using the smalled Banner Stacklet 1 die and matted it on the next size up. To finish up I added a bit of twine thread (I know you are shocked) and a Prima flower. I’m thinking this card is going in the stash of cards that I’m building to send to my husband’s great aunt. She just loves handmade cards and I always have a little stash going for her and send them off every once in a while. 🙂

For my second card I set out to use nothing but dies and I managed to accomplish it. I love cards like this… they are so clean and though not always simple. I really like the sharp smooth edges a die based card has. 🙂

I started my card with a Choice Snow White cardbase. I then used the new Circles Cutting Plate to die cut the background, again out of Choice Snow White cardstock. I then layered three different sizes of Banner Stacklets 1 cut from Authentiques Lovely paper pad.  Next I die cut the 4ever from the Whimsy #’s and Whimsy Alpha dies. That little hearts are from the Cupid’s Arrow die set. I spaced everything out with a little bit of foam tape.
