Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peeks: Be Kind

Be Kind by Jen Shults

Hi everyone! Welcome to day 1 of Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peeks! We have a lot in store for you this week. We will be sneak peeking new products today, Tuesday and Wednesday with all the new product available on Thursday at 7 AM PDT at the Taylored Expressions Store!

First up today I have a new watercolor panel to share with you! This is from the brand new Watercolor Panels – Inspire set. There are 4 different designs all meant to inspire YOU! I absolutely love this one and am thinking about making another one for a frame on my desk at school. 🙂

I started my card by watercoloring the panel with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a paint brush. I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the word kind and then matted the panel with Cookie Monster cardstock. In the background I embossed a piece of Salt Water Taffy cardstock with the new Kaleidoscope Embossing Folder and matted that piece with more Cookie Monster cardstock. I layered the two pieces with foam tape and added them to a Toffee cardbase. To finish it all off I added a twine bow, a few Snow Flurries Sequins and an enamel dot. You can see the shimmer on the work kind in the photo below.Be Kind by Jen Shults

My second card today features a new die that I just LOVE!!! It’s the Hello Script die. I am a sucker for scripty word dies – especially every day use ones. 🙂 I paired up this die with Simply Stamped Roses for a quick bold card.

To start this card I stamped two of the large roses from Simply Stamped Roses using Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop and Cherry Pop TE ink as well as some of the leaves using Granny Smith and Peapod ink. I used my MISTI to align everything perfectly. I die cut the flowers with their coordinating dies and set them aside. I next die cut a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock with the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die and used a Clarity Stencil Brush to brush on a bit of Sprinkles ink letting it fade out about 2/3rds of the way down the panel. Next I cut the Hello Script die out of Oreo cardstock and white fun foam (I would have used black but I didn’t have any) and layered them together so the sentiment pops up. Next I arranged the flowers and sentiment using foam tape between some of the layers. To finish off I added a diagonal line of Snow Flurry Sequins for a little sparkle.

(I need new cutting plates BADLY – pay no attention to the little fuzzies.)
