Taylored Expressions January Spotlights: Stuck on You and Bless Your Nest

It’s Spotlight day at Taylored Expressions featuring new sets from the January release. I’m using Stuck on You and Bless Your Nest today. Both of these stamp sets are so so cute! I can’t wait to show you what I’ve made. 🙂

First up is Bless Your Nest. This super fun stamp set features 15 stamps illustrated by designer Nancy McKinney and has a variety of sentiments. I love how this stamp set makes for quick and easy card!

A Note of Thanks, handmade card by Jen Shults

I always love to have a good stash of thank you cards around so I always find myself gravitating to those sentiments. Being a middle school teacher I find myself pulling out a thank you card almost weekly for one reason or another and I know this one will be a great addition!

My card uses MME’s The Sweetest Thing Tangerine which is fast becoming a favorite paper pad at my house. I used a dark brown cardstock base and stamped the image is Memento Rich Cocoa before coloring the leaves with Copic Markers. I stamped the birds with a Memento Lady Bug belly and Rich Cocoa body. The egg is stamped with Ranger Tumbled Glass. I die cut the bird, eggs and nest with the Bless Your Nest Die set. The sentiment is die cut using the new Tuck and Fold 3×3 Notecard Die… I really like the scalloped edge so I cut just that part out of some scrap cardstock and used it for the sentiment. Under that I used the Banner Stacklets to create the three little banner flags. 🙂 I attached everything together with the Best Glue Ever and a little piece of 1/16″ foam tape under the bird. 🙂 Everything is sponged with Ranger Vintage photo ink. I LOVE how it all came out!

My second card features the SUPER cute Stuck on You stamp set illustrated by Doug Applegate. This stamp set is full of adorable little hedge hogs and FUN sentiments! My card starts with this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge sketch and the January Project Pantry kit.

XOXO, handmade card by Jen Shults

I started by stamping my cute little hedgie on Choice Snow White Cardstock and coloring him with Copic Markers. I think die cut him with Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle dies. The trim die is the Jumbo Heart Border Die cut twice out of blue and pink and then put back together. The hearts are from the Cupid’s Arrow Die set. I added a bit of Glossy Accents to the balloon and the mini hearts to make them shiny. 🙂

Well that’s it for me today! Check out what the rest of the Baker’s Dozen has up their sleeve to get some great inspiration on how to use the new stamps and dies from the January Taylored Expressions release!
