Taylored Expressions May Sneak Peeks: My Favorite Dad & Punny Man

Hi everyone! I hope it’s been a good week so far! I’ve survived Monday and it’s definitely a one day at a time week. We counted up yesterday and we have 16 school days left! That’s always a bit scary for me, lol. I love the countdown but it also means its the crazy race to the finish, to get everything done! Let’s just say my two do list for the end of the year outnumbers my days left of school by about 5 to 1, lol.

Well let’s get on with the real purpose of today’s post – new goodies from Taylored Expressions! Today I am featuring My Favorite Dad, Little Bits Golf Ball & Tee, and Punny Man.

Dad by Jen Shults using My Favorite Dad from Taylored Expressions

First up is My Favorite Dad. I created the outside of my card with older dies from Taylored Expressions that I thought were just perfect for a father’s day card. I used Banner Stacklets 1 for the main label and cut letters from Sweet & Simple Alpha Uppers to spell Dad. I used a couple of different TE star elements to create embellishments – Star Border die and Seeing Stars dies (one of my favorites!!). To make the background I watercolored with Vintage Photo Distress Re-inker ink and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Re-inker ink. I painted, splatter and sponged to create the background.

On the inside I used Label Stacklets 1 again with My Favorite Dad to make the interior sentiment. I love this set of sentiments, this one is especially perfect for my daughter to give to my husband. 🙂

For my next card I used Punny Man and Little Bits Golf Ball & Tee. I knew I wanted to make a golf course scene so I started by digging out my Build a Scene dies and organizing what papers I wanted to use where.

I used the Build a Scene Rolling Clouds dies to make both the clouds and the overall edge of the tree line. I used Build a Scene Rolling Hills for the hilly areas. I added in the Evergreens to accentuate the tree line. I used Wispy Grass Border to anchor the tee and golf ball into the foreground. I stamped the sentiment on Cherry Pop cardstock cut with Banner Stacklets 1 and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. To finish off I added a little wood veneer heart.

I tried to keep this gender neutral so it could be used for any golf fan!
