Taylored Expressions May Sneak Peeks – You’ve Got Mail Patriotic and Downtown Border

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a restful weekend! It was a bit crazy at my house. We spent Saturday morning working on putting in some new landscaping in our front yard, plants only!!! We also installed a simple watering system for it so that was fun! It was fun to explore the green house and pick out plants for the yard. Sunday Evey and I spent the morning volunteering at a 5k/10k for Congenital Heart Disease. It was an early morning but we had fun!

Now it’s time to kick off a new round of sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions using brand new goodies for May! Today I am using these brand new products: You’ve Got Mail – Patriotic, Summer Night Matched Kit (which includes FOUR new colors of cardstock!!), Downtown Border and Brick Embossing Folder.

First up is You’ve Got Mail – Patriotic! I love this new addition to the You’ve Got Mail series of stamps. They are all so adorable!

I started my card by stamping You’ve Got Mail – Patriotic on Sugar Cube cardstock and coloring it with Copics. I added a bit of sparkle to the stars with a Wink of Stella pen and added a few clear Tiny Twinkles on top of some of the little dots in the image. I die cut the image using Label Stacklets 6 (before adding the sparkles!) and matted it in Blue Corn cardstock. The cardbase is also cut from Blue Corn cardstock and layered with Watermelon cardstock and a bit of patterned paper from Summer Night 6×6 Paper Pack. I used Pockets & Pages Stitched Essentials to cut the banners out of Sprinkles cardstock. The star is cut using Star Stacklets and was cut out of Blue Corn. I used Pockets & Pages July Scripts for the sentiment and cut them out of Blue Corn cardstock. I finished it off by adding a small bow of twine to the star.

My second card features the new Downtown Border die and Brick Embossing Folder. As soon as I saw this border die I knew I wanted to make something with a sunset/sunrise behind the image. After digging through my dies I decided it would make a perfect postage stamp scene so I got to work. I started by sponging the background panel for the skyline. I used Abandoned Coral, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Dusty Concord Distress Inks for the sponging. It didn’t take all the long – I just kept adding colors to deepen the night sky, lol. I trimmed this piece to fit inside the Stamp Stacklets die cut and then cut a portion of the Downtown Border to fit as well. I cut the Downtown border out of Poppy Seed cardstock. To finish the stamp I cut the 49 using Mini Caps Alphas & #’s dies and the smallest heart from Heart Stacklets. For the rest of the card I cut a Poppy Seed cardbase and rounded the bottom corners. I then cut a piece of Watermelon cardstock and Toffee cardstock rounding those edges as well. I ran the piece of Toffee cardstock through the Brick Embossing Folder. For the sentiment I used Love You More Stamp & Die Combo to stamp the sentiment and die cut the word love. I used Pockets & Pages Stitched Essentials for the banner and Heart Stacklets for the heart. I added a tiny twine bow and a few stars to the stamp with a Stardust Gel Pen and done!
