Taylored Expressions May Studio Challenge

Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge

It’s time for the Taylored Expressions May Studio Challenge for the Baker’s Dozen and this month’s question is a fun one! Here it is:

What is your favorite time of the year?  Some of us love the sunshine and heat and summer, while some of us long for the crisp cool air of fall.  Do spring flowers make your heart sing or is it snow and the smell of pine needles that makes you jolly?

Tell us about your favorite month or season and also tell us about your favorite time of year to stamp.

Well my first project up there at the top of my post is my answer to the first question. My favorite time of year is definitely spring. I love the change from winter to spring, granted I’m not so much loving all the crazy extra weather we have been having lately. I also love that it means that summer vacation is soon to arrive. Sometimes I think I love the anticipation of summer break almost as much as I love the actual vacation. 🙂

For my project I used the Perpetual Occassions calendar and created a spring scene with lots of TE dies. This was SO FUN to put together and I love how it worked out. You can catch my supply list at the end of this post.

My favorite time of the year to stamp is honestly all the time. I really don’t have a favorite time of year. What I do love is the constant change of theme and style that comes with stamping throughout the year so to depict that I used the gorgeous Mixed Blooms flower stamp. The lovely mix of flowers is the perfect blend. 🙂

To make this calendar I started with the 2014 tear off calendar and a picture frame. I made a 5×7″ simple layout to go with my watercolored flowers using Authentique’s Hope designer paper.

I apologize for not having more photos of my projects. My camera is on the fritz right now and the focusing mechanism on my 50mm lens isn’t working right. I’m hoping to have it all fixed up soon though!

Now it’s time to check out what the rest of the Baker’s Dozen has in store for you!

  4. Jen, I love how your first project is so bright and cheerful and the second has a really nice vintage feel to it. Both are awesome!

  5. i enjoy stamping anytime, but my favorite season would have to be Spring. I just love the budding plants and trees and the feeling of new life happening. I get so excited seeing those bulbs and plants pop out of the ground after a winters’ sleep. Gives me goose-bumps!

  6. Your rainbow calendar page is fantastic. Love it.

I love all the seasons for different reasons. I get most stamping and crafting done in the winter.
