TE April Sneak Peeks: New Bloomers and Listen to Your Heart!

Listen to Your Heart by Jen Shults

It’s time for Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peeks! We will be sharing sneak peeks of new Taylored Expressions goodies Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Everything will be available for purchase on Thursday at 9 am CST! Today I have two projects to share with you. The first one uses two new TE products – Little Bits – Stethoscope and Listen to Your Heart.

I knew I wanted to sponge hearts in the background for this card so I started by cutting three sizes of Heart Stacklets from masking paper and using the negatives as a stencil. I sponged on the center heart first using Cherry Pop ink and then to the two Candy Corn hearts and last I sponged on the two smaller Lemon Meringue hearts. When I sponged the hearts on I concentrated on applying the heaviest ink to the outside edges and lightly fading into the center.

Next I positioned the sentiment and stamped it out in Oreo ink. I die cut two Stethoscopes – one from Cherry Pop cardstock and one from silver metallic cardstock. I trimmed the Cherry Pop stethoscope so the cord was a contrasting color and applied it to the metallic base. To finish I die cut a frame from Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 and added a few Snow Flurries Sequins.

For my second card I used a brand new addition to the Bloomers flower die line – Bloomers 4. This adorable Poppy  made for a quick bold card!

I started my card with a Cherry Pop cardbase and then layered that with a Sugar Cube panel embossed with the new Quatrefoil Embossing Folder. I love when both sides of an embossed panel look great so for this card I used the debossed side of the cardstock. I sponged a small bit of Sprinkles ink onto the panel where I was going to place my flower cluster.

To assemble the flowers I cut Bloomers 4 from Cherry Pop, Lemon Meringue and Candy Corn cardstock and cut the centers three times from Oreo and Lemon Meringue. I layered up the pieces and adhered them together with liquid adhesive. I die cut a few pieces from Bloomers Greenery out of Peapod cardstock for leaves around the flowers. For the sentiment I stamped You’re the Best from Simply Said – Mom onto Oreo cardstock using Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added a small frame from Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 using Granny Smith cardstock. To finish up and add just a bit of shine I added a couple of drops of Nuvo Jewel Drops in Sea Breeze.
