TE March Sneak Peeks: There’s No Place Like Home

Happy New Home by Jen Shults

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic Tuesday! I’m back today with a project for Taylored Expressions newest release (available Thursday, March 9) using a stunning new stamp set called There’s No Place Like Home. This stamp set coordinates with some adorable new Little Bits: Little Bits – House and Little Bits Cottage. For my card above I used Little Bits – House.

I started this card by blending a bit of Granny Smith ink and Sprinkles Ink on a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock. I heat set it just a bit and then die cut it using Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. Next I stamped the sentiment pieces on the card. I inked around the heart in home so I could fit the Little Bits – House die cut in between the letters and used my MISTI to line up the Congratulations on Your New part of the sentiment. Next I die cut all the little pieces of the house using Sugar Cube, Poppy Seed, Potato Chip and Cherry Pop cardstock. The little bushes are actually from Sitting Pretty Accessories and are die cut from Granny Smith cardstock. To finish up I die cut the Wispy Grass Border Die from Peapod and then added a frame die cut using Stitched Frame Stacklets 1.

My second card uses a new addition to the Door to Door line of dies – Door to Door 2 and Door to Door Sentiments. Door to Door 2 adds a new style of door to the line up along with the option of a hinge for the door that allows the door to have a sentiment hidden behind it!

To start my card I created an A2 Sugar Cube cardbase. Next I cut an A2 sized piece of Earl Grey cardstock and embossed it with the Subway Tiles Embossing Folder and adhered it to the cardbase. Next I began cutting all the pieces for the door and door molding. I used Granny Smith for the door and Poppy Seed for the door molding cut with Door to Door Molding. The windows panes are cut from Potato Chip. The door lock and knob are cut from the Pewter cardstock in Metallic Neutrals. The Welcome mat is cut from Toffee and bordered with Poppy Seed. Hanging flowers are cut from Toffee, Peapod and Jelly Donut from Door to Door Summer Decor as is the flower pot.

Behind the door I stamped “The road to a friend’s house is never long.” using Earl Grey ink. I double cut the door and sandwiched the hinge piece in between the door cuts. I tucked the other side of the hinge behind the sentiment panel so the door would open. To keep the door closed I very slightly overlapped the flowers.

The wreath on the door is cut from Door to Door Decor and Door to Door Summer Decor using Toffee and Jelly Donut cardstock.
