TE Release Day: Dreamer and Cloud Nine Background

Magical Day by Jen Shults

Hi everyone! It’s here! TE’s January Release Day!! All of the fun goodies we have been sharing with you this week are now available in the TE Store! You can find everything here.

Today I have two projects to share with you using some of my favorites from this week! My first card uses the Dreamer Stamp & Die Combo and Rainbow Cutting Plate. I started this card by cutting the Rainbow Cutting Plate from Sugar Cube cardstock and sponging the cut out pieces with ink. I love this technique as it lets me add a little gradient to the cut outs and it’s very quick. I used Sprinkles for the sky and Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue, Peapod, Cookie Monster and Blue Corn layered and Jelly Donut for the rainbow. I assembled the cutting plate pieces back together by attaching them to a piece of fun foam using tape adhesive. The unicorn is from the Dreamer Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped this on Sugar Cube with Oreo ink and colored it with Prismacolors and odorless mineral spirits. The sentiment was stamped on Oreo cardstock and heat embossed in white. The clouds are die cut using Stitched Cloud Duo dies. I used an Oreo cardbase to contrast with the bold colors of the rainbow. This was a SUPER fast card to put together. 🙂

My second card has me wishing I was on my way to where ever they are rather than staring down the front end of a 4 day ice storm – EEEK! Those palm trees and waves look pretty enticing right now!

To start my card I die cut all of the parts of the surf bus and assembled them. I used Watermelon for the main body, Sugar Cube for the window frames, Oreo for the tires, Granny Smith for the surf board. For the wheels and bumpers I foiled a pieces of toner cardstock with silver foil and then die cut the pieces so they were nice and shiny. Behind the window openings I adhered a piece of clear plastic to create the windows.

For the sky I die cut a piece of Salt Water Taffy with Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and sponged the top half with Sprinkles and Cookie Monster Ink. Next I stamped the Cloud Nine Background on top using Sugar Cube ink. For the water I cut waves using Build a Scene Rolling Waves from Earl Grey and Salt Water Taffy and separated them with foam tape. I cut the sand from Toffee cardstock using Build a Scene Rolling Hills. The palm trees were cut using the Big Kahuna dies from Sweet Basil and Toffee cardstock. I sponged the trunk with a bit if Chocolate Truffle ink. The sentiment was stamped on vellum with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder and then I stapled it on with a tiny stapler.
