TE Sneak Peeks: Christmas Greetings

Christmas Greetings by Jen Shults, handmade Christmas Card

Hi crafty friends! I hope you are having a fantastic day so far! Today I’m back with more goodies from Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peeks! We are continuing with more Christmas goodies today. My first card today uses a new stamp set: Ornamental. I LOVE THIS STAMP SET!! Oh my do I love it. I had so much fun stamping out this background and coloring it with Copics. This stamp set reminds me so much of my grandmother’s Christmas tree when I was a kid. It was filled with glass ornaments shaped like this is bold bright colors.

To start my card I used my MISTI help me stamp out all of the ornaments on Sugar Cube cardstock using Oreo ink. I then colored all of the ornaments in bold bright fun colors adding a deep shadow behind them to help them pop off the paper. I knew I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple so I stamped a sentiment on Oreo cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment with Stitched Oval Stacklets. To finish up I added a few of the Snow Flurries sequins to add a little sparkle.

My second card today uses another new gorgeous stamp set, O’ Holy Night. This set features two beautiful stained glass window designs that fit perfectly in Label Stacklets 5. To start my card I stamped the candle stained glass window on Sugar Cube cardstock with Oreo ink and colored it with Copic Markers. I then die cut the window with Label Stacklets 5. Next I stamped the Woodgrain Background on Toffee cardstock with Toffee ink. I die cut the background with Frame Stacklets 1 and then cut the stacklets again from Cherry Pop cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum with Versamark and embossed it in white. I then die cut the sentiment using Stitched Banner Stacklets. The holly is cut from the dies that coordinate with Holiday Florals. I cut the holly leaves from Sweet Basil cardstock. For the berries I foiled a small piece of toner cardstock with red transfer foil and then die cut the berries – I find this gives a cleaner finish. To finish off I added a small bow using gold twine.
