Thinking of You – Share Joy!

Thinking of You by Jen Shults

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a card I made for the Taylored Expressions Share Joy campaign! This wonderful initiative provides cards for different organizations to share with those in need. You can find out more about the newest Share Joy campaign on the Taylored Expressions Blog.

For my card I started by water coloring a background using Strathmore 400 Watercolor Paper and Distress Inks – Cracked Pistachio, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, Abandoned Coral. After drying it I sprinkled a bit of water on it and dabbed that up with a paper towel to make the white splotches. Next I die cut the branch out of Sweet Basil cardstock using the Leafy Branch die. After adhering the branch I die cut the small flowers out of the background using Little Bits Flowers and Stems. The flowers that were cut out were then placed around the branch using foam tape for some. I used Copics to accent the centers of the flowers and added Tiny Twinkles to the middles of the flowers for accent. I stamped the sentiment from Shade Tree Sentiments on Toffee and die cut it with Banner Stacklets 1.

My card was inspired by this card from Shannon White of the TE Pinterest Board. I love use these boards as a starting point for projects. I usually end up going a totally different direction but it gets the ideas going! I loved the way Shannon blended the background behind her die cuts. That led me to dig out my watercolors and paint a blended background. 🙂 The rest of the card developed from there!

I do hope you’ll join us for TE’s Share Joy!!! Thanks for stopping by!
