Thinking of You

Thinking of You by Jen Shults

Today I’ve got a card for you using the the May Stamp of the Month from Taylored Expressions, Bloom and Grow. I started my card by digging up a fantastic sketch from MojoMonday – MOJO347. This is a tall and skinny sketch so I trimmed my traditional A2 sized card down to 3.25″ x 5.5″. Next I embossed a sheet of yellow cardstock with the Houndstooth Cutting plate.

**Tip: How to emboss with a cutting plate…
I start by trimming my cardstock to the final size I need it to be then I make the following stack for my Big Shot: Multipurpose Platform open to the platform base (not tabs), plastic cutting plate, cutting plate die – cutting side up, cardstock, TE embossing pads (both) thin one on the bottom, plastic cutting plate. Run it through and you should get a nice clean emboss without cutting through the paper.

The next step in my card was to stamp the blue paper with the large flower from Bloom and Grow. I used ink that coordinated with my cardstock and then outlined the flowers with a white gel pen. I layered this up with white cardstock, a kraft circle stamped with the sentiment in white ink and a bit of twine. The yellow flower was made by stamping the large flower from Bloom and Grow and then overlay stamping the center using Frost White ink (be sure to heat set your dye ink before the second stamping to help keep it from mixing with the white ink). I die cut this with Hello Blooms and then added two leaves die cut using the Rosy Posy die set.
