Alright! Let’s celebrate some summer!!! This week it’s my turn to choose our topic and I decided that since summer vacation had started why not focus on that. You can get the full challenge details over at the TTIC Blog.
So for my challenge piece this week I decided to focus on jewelry. As soon as I sat down to start making this I ran across my bag of white lucite flowers and just knew what I wanted to make. This bracelet is made using pale yellow and white lucite flowers, jonquil and clear Swarovski crystals and yellow green seed bead “stems”. The pale yellow and the frosted white flowers just seem to give off a summer glow! Each charm is hand wrapped onto a gorgeous sterling silver curb chain… this is my very favorite type of chain to work with. The bracelet if finished off with a small lobster clasp and a 1″ growth chain. The finished bracelet measures between 5.75″ and 7″ (It fit both me and Evey.)
For the comment portion this week I asked for your favorite summer stories. For me summer is a huge break. I’m very lucky in that I get 10 weeks off for summer to spend with my kids. This year and last year we have headed out on a driving vacation with the kids to Branson, MO. Last years trip was really fun and this years will hopefully be the same (we leave on Sunday!). I’m hopeful this will become an anual trip for us. We used to make this same trip when I was a kid with my brother and my parents and it was something I will always remember.
Now, do I have any recent summer adventures… well unless potty training my 2.5 year old son counts, there’s not much to tell that’s adventurous.
I hope everyone’s summer is going well! Please go check out the other stunning creations from our design team and guest designers. I’ve snuck a peak at a few and they are unbelievably fantastic!
