Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge 3

Howdy all! It’s Tuesday again and you know what that means… a Twilight Tuesday challenge. This week’s challenge is a color challenge brought to us by Alison. I’m sad to say that this will be my second to last TTIC post. It’s with a heavy heart that Tonya has decided that it’s time for TTIC to come to an end. This is the last ‘official’ TTIC challenge. Next week we will conclude with a fair-well blog hop on Feb. 16. I’m very sad to see it all end and I hope everyone will participate with us in these last two challenges.

Here’s what Alison had to say:

Here are the Bella and Edward’s Wedding Flowers!  We’ve got Lilac, Orange Blossom (yes, for those of you with green thumbs out there, orange blossoms are actually white…but just work with me here ok? ;) ) and finally, Rose. It’s a very soft pallete. And I hate the winter… so I needed a pick me up with these colors! These are the lovely flowers Alice picked out for the Wedding. What a pretty  combo of flowers don’tcha think? So create something soft and beautiful for this challenge. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Now I have to admit that this color challenge was a bit difficult for me. I’m not a huge pastel user and I NEEEEEED contrast so you know me… I threw some dark brown in there. This is what I came up with:

I have had this Michelle Perkett image colored up for ages it seems and just didn’t know what I was going to do with her until Alison issued this challenge and I realized I had all the colors for the challenge just sitting there ready to go (work with me on the Orange Blossom, I’m thinking her skin tone works well…) so that part of the challenge was done. Unfortunately that left me with the challenge of designing a card that fit this gorgeous image and well… I’m a little out of my element with fantasy images but I buckled down and I really LOVE the result. It’s still very me but definitely outside my norm.

I used some gorgeous BoBunny card stock that has a subtle swirl design on it the compliments the cutouts and the image. The cutouts are from my Slice Vintage Findings card (LOVE THIS CARD) and the punch in the background is a new Martha Stewart edge punch that I can’t remember the name of. I doubled it up on either side of the cardstock and I think it has moved up the ranks to be my favorite punch, lol. I distressed everything a bit with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and put it all together. I also added just a bit of sparkle with a Spica clear pen to her wings. I’m really excited that I can post that I think I pulled this off, lol!!!
