Welcome to our October 2013 Spotlight Hops! We’re so excited to preview Verve’s newest stamp sets and dies with you! Well, this probably looks a bit familiar! Oops! In my happy rush to get all most posts done in advance I accidentally switched up my sets on my calendar and posted in the wrong order. Soo… you get a double dose of this card!
Today we are featuring a new Christmas set called Unto Us. This set is absolutely gorgeous and coordinates with the previously released Classy Label Die and the brand new Reindeer Fun die.
Project How To:
For my card I pulled out some left over Authentique Festive paper from last season to use along with a bit of kraft and brown cardstock. The background is embossed with Tim Holtz Rays Texture Fade and then sponged with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. After I sponged the edges I distressed them then reinked them again with a sponge and I dipped them in a bit of Champagne Recollections Embossing powder and heat embossed the edges. I love how it give this edges a soft gilded look. The bow is made from a bit of ribbon from the Autumn Ribbon Collection from Verve.

Oh my what a gorgeous rustic/vintage card. I love the way you distressed and then embossed the edges…….(a new to me technique which I will have to try now)………what a great idea. It adds a special touch to the whole card. This card has such a warm feel to it.
