I have to say I’m a bit sad! Today is the last of the preview hops for this gigantic Verve birthday celebration and it was all just amazing. Adore every single stamp set and I know they are going to be staples in my collection!
Today I’m using Treasured Words as well as Borderline to make this get well card. This is a bit of a different style than what I’ve made so far in the release hops but I wanted to switch it up a bit. To start I used watercolor paper and Distress Markers to create an ombré background. To make this I just picked out colors of blue and applied them to the paper in a gradient color pattern and spritzed the paper lightly with water and used a brush to help blend the ink. I used a heat gun to speed the drying. I did the same for the paper I cut the butterflies out with. I stamped the sentiment panel and hearts in coordinating ink pad colors (Faded Denim and Weathered Wood). The sentiment panel is die cut with the Rounded Rectangle Die. I die cut the butterflies using the All a Flutter Butterfly Dies set. To finish up I used the Scattered Straw Distress Marker to add stitching to the outside white panel and added just a few Buttercup Liquid Pearl dots on the sentiment to tie in the yellow. This is a bit different for me but I really like it! I hope you do too. 🙂
