This week my friend and fellow DT member Sankari Wegman and I decided to countdown to Valentine’s Day with 7 days of Love Cards! Each day this week we will be celebrating by posting a card all about love on our blogs! We also decided to each create a sketch and a color inspiration to use in case we need a little extra mojo 😉

Jen’s LOVE filled Day 1:

Woohoo! I am so so excited to be joining Sankari on this crafty adventure and I am so happy to be spending some time just crafting for FUN! (Not that I don’t have fun when I craft otherwise – it’s just nice to set time aside just to make cards for the sake of making cards! )

My first card of the week uses sketch #2 and the color palette #2 from the inspiration set above. I used some new stamps I recently ordered from MFT that I haven’t had a chance to use until now. That definitely makes me happy!

To start my card I started with a Grout Gray (MFT) card base and layered it with Sugar Cube (TE) cardstock and another piece of Sugar Cube cardstock (TE) that I sponged hearts on using Grout Gray Dye Ink (MFT) and Stencil Background Hearts (MFT). I added a bit of distressing and sponged the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Ranger). I cut three different hearts from Cherry Pop (TE), Chocolate Truffle (TE) and Grout Gray (MFT) cardstock. I ran the red heart through a paper crimper and sponged and distressed the edges. The banner is a piece of Toffe cardstock (TE) that I trimmed the end off at a diagonal and stamped with I <3 You from MSTN I Love You More from MFT in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I filled the heart with a red Copic. To finish off I added a bit of stitching, a twine bow and clear dots.
