Art Journaling Friday

It’s Friday and for me that means it’s time to share an art journal page. I’m going to try to do this every week! If you are an art journaler and are sharing projects I’d LOVE to see what you are making so leave me a link in your comment to what ever you’ve made this week!

This week I played along with The Greeting Farm’s HeArt Journaling Prompt. Can I just say how nice it is to have time to play along with a challenge?? It’s wonderful!

This page has been a work in progress for quite some time. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before but I tend to have many many pages going at one time and any one page may sit as just a background for weeks or months before I find a suitable direction for what I’ve started. This page did exactly that. I started with the circles of bold colors with black outlines and eventually added the scallops around the outside and the swirls in the middle of the page. And then it sat some more because I loved it but couldn’t figure out what to do with it. So it sat. And then Marie issued her bold words challenge and it just fit. So I started thinking of different things I wanted to say in that direction and started drawing them out in block letters. I painted the words in with Liqutex Basics Black paint and the added the handwritten sentences and stamped on the butterflies. I may add a border but I’m not sure it needs it. But I’ve also never met a journal page I couldn’t add to later. 😉
