Art Journaling

So I’ve been very slowly building up more pages in my art journal. It takes me a while to get a page finished because I can really only work 10-15 minutes a day on any one page and I tend to flit around from page to page. I wanted to share one that I finally finished this week. It’s a combination art journal/real journal page. I started this one nearly a month ago I think.

I started this page off with spraying liquid watercolors from a Mini Mister all over the paper. Next I stamped the page with an old Stampin’ Up stamp set that I had. All of the blocks and circles are from that set. I drew in the words and wavy lines a few at a time. I added some doodling with a white gel pen and then did some regular journaling int he spaces that were left. I’m not very good at or consistent with regular journaling so I’m hoping this type of exercise will help improve that. 🙂

I also wanted to share another page I started that’s not done but it’s at a good place to share what I have.

On this page I prepped the page with dictionary pages adhered with matte medium and then painted over that with Liquitex Basics Gesso. I drew out the peony by hand from a photo I took of the peonies at my Mother in law’s house. I used Inktense pencils and water to add color. I’m a bit undecided as of now as to how to finish it but I really like how it looks so far. 🙂

We are about to head out on our trip. I’m leaving my laptop at home but have all my posts scheduled for next week and I’ll have my phone with me so I’ll be checking in here and there. Have a great weekend and week next week!!
