Deconstructed Sketch No. 52

WOOHOO!!! We made it to number 52 and you know what that means? A FULL year of sketches! Actually it’s been a year and two weeks but who’s counting? 😉

Here is sketch No. 52!!

And here’s my sample using OA Just for You from The Greeting Farm.

“What? Are you sure I’m at the right blog? That is a card with a blue background… clearly Jen did not make that. Where is the kraft paper? Jen only uses kraft paper.”

I know you are shocked… I’m ‘trying’ to break out of my mold here a bit and use more colored card stock because it glares at me every time I take the white and the kraft out of the drawer and leave the colors in there. Again.

What, your color cardstock doesn’t glare at you? Hmm. Weird.

Okay, enough stand up. Let’s get back on track here. In a minute. You should know this is what happens when I finish my card early and have more time to type my post. Be thankful this rarely happens because I could go on with the sarcasm and one liners all night.

Alright, here’s the scoop. I stamped Amelia on Canson 90# watercolor paper using Palette Hybrid Noir ink (I kinda love that stuff) and used Distress Markers and a water brush to watercolor the image. I can’t express how much I love these markers. They are a DREAM to watercolor with and it’s so nice to be able to stamp with them in coordinating colors. The designer paper is Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane (LOVE this paper pad) and the cardstock is Bazzill Basics Patina (by some miracle it still had the sticker on it).  To finish the card off I used my Janome Sew Mini and natural thread to add stitching around the card. (That was my first time trying to stitch in a circle – I used the old manual wheel verses the foot pedal – it went okay and honestly didn’t take that long.)

Want your sketches a little early? Follow the Deconstructed Sketch on Facebook!! And if you are looking for some older sketches to dig through you can find them in the Deconstructed Sketchbook. Now it’s time to hop around and see what everyone else on the DT has been up to and leave them a little love.
