Emboss All the Things!
Hi! Happy Tuesday! Taylored Expressions is having a super fun release today and introducing a BUNCH of fun new embossing items. (If you haven’t gotten your hands on their new Powder Tool for embossing you need it – it’s life-changing if you heat emboss a lot!)
Today I have a set of cards to share with you using a “newish” product from Taylored Expressions – the On Occassion stamp set. This was a freebie with $100 purchase a while back and IT’S AMAZING! These sentiments paired up with the Easy Strips dies make card sets super fast and easy to make!
To make these cards I started by cutting the 1/2″ Easy Strips die out of Sprinkles, Peapod, Granny Smith, Potato Chip, Lemon Meringue, Candy Corn, Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop, Fruit Punch, Plum Punch, Grape Jelly and Cookie Monster cardstock. (All of the cardstock colors are linked below.) After cutting all of the strips I attached them diagonally to a sheet of TE’s Sticky Sheets. After they were all attached and trimmed I stuck the other side of the sticky sheet paper to a piece of grid pad paper from my MISTI. I did this so it wouldn’t be extra bulky for die-cutting. You could also use printer paper. I die cut the panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die. I repeated this 4 times to make all of the background. **Tip: to make this a lot quicker, a while back I took 2 sheets of each color of cardstock I have and cut them to size for quickly cutting the Easy Strip dies. Now I have a stash of colors ready to go when I want to make a stripey card!
For the sentiments, I used the powder tool on a large piece of Oreo cardstock, loaded up all of the sentiments in my MISTI and stamped them at once using Versamark ink. I then heat embossed with TE’s Fine Detail Embossing Powder in White and die cut with the coordinating dies.
For the strip sentiments, I dug through my Simple Strips and Mini Strips stash and found the perfect sentiments to go with the larger On Occassion sentiments. Each of the strip sentiments are stamped on Oreo cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed using TE’s Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Black.
To finish up I added some clear Drip Drops and popped the panels up on a Sugar Cube card base with foam tape.
Right now through Sunday, March 13th, when you buy any 3 (or more!) embossing powders, you will get set of 12 Swatch Dots for FREE! It’s the perfect way to catalog your embossing powder and glitter collection! Embossing powder and glitter charts are available to download for FREE when you are logged into your TE account!
