Farm Fresh Glam!
This week we have a FABULOUS Farm Fresh Friday Challenge this week over at The Greeting Farm blog and you have to know it came from Jessica because it involves jewelry! Jess wants us to use one of our favorite jewelry pieces as inspiration for our card this week and to use a bit of bling too.
For my piece of jewelry I chose a bracelet I made back in 2007 as a custom jewelry piece for fabric and pattern designer Lila Tueller. I can’t even begin to get into the back story that got me to be able to make this bracelet for her… it’s a very long story but any how I was lucky enough to be able to do some work for her. She specified the colors and the style and I got to work. It’s not something I would wear because honestly I’m not a big jewelry wearer BUT I adore making it and I seem to be drawn to the bigger and jinglier styles, lol. Here are a couple of shots of the bracelet:
So now for my card I pulled out the pink, green, cream and brown and used those as my color set for the card. I used a bit of lace ribbon to try to echo the pattern of the Bali Silver ball beads and even though you can’t see it I used a Spica pen on her diaper to add a bit of sparkle.
I used Toby Cub as my focal image and colored ‘her’ with Copics and then cut her out with a Nestabilities No. 12 Label and sponged the edges with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. I used a Prima rose and the “Sweet Kisses” sentiment from the Sweet Message stamp set.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the Critter Crew and Farmers are up to this week! If you’d like to play along you can get full details over at the Greeting Farm Blog!
