Gel Printing Fun!
Today I have a super fun new kit to share with you from Taylored Expressions. This kit is packed with fun goodies to get you started with using a gel printing plate and has lots of fun add ons that will take your gel printing to the next level. You also will receive access to a free gel printing virtual class if you purchase your kit between October 12 and October 17.
The Gel Printing Kit retails for $69 and includes:
- One 5″ x 7″ Gel Printing Plate
- Five 4 oz tubes of acrylic paint (blue, magenta, yellow, pearl metallic white and titanium white)
- 20 sheets of Gel Printing Paper (5 1/2? x 8 1/2?)
- One 4″ Soft Rubber Speedball Brayer
- One 2 oz bottle of gel hand sanitizer (for removing paint residue from the plate)
- A hinged Gel Printing Plate Storage Tin (7 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ x 1″)
I created three cards using the gel printing kit and a couple of the addons to share with you today. The wonderful thing about this kit is that you can use it with the supplies you already have!
The first card I want to share with you is made using the gel printing kit, the Picked Posies stamp set and the new Make a Dash stencil. The thing I love most about the gel plate is that each print and each card will be unique. To start this card I used yellow and magenta acrylic paint brayered on the gel plate. These colors mixed well and created a beautiful red and orange. I then did a second print on top with white using the Make a Dash stencil. I stamped the Picked Posies stamp set on top with Versafine ink and then heat set carefully with a heat tool. I added accents with a black acrylic paint pen. The sentiment is from Block Party Happy Additions.

My second card uses the new Honey Comb stencil with the Gel Printing kit that I used with TE inks instead of acrylic paint. I used the same methods I would use with acrylic paint but instead of blending the paints I blended the inks with the brayer and it worked beautifully! I inked three different layers using the stencil in different spots. After inking I heat set the panel, realigned the stencil, and added Versamark through the stencil with clear embossing powder to highlight the last layer of inking.

My last card shows off how one more layer with the gel plate can change a panel you don’t love to one that you do. This panel has 5 different layers of paint – I started with a second pull of magenta and cyan paint. Over that I pulled a light pink with the Scattered Floral Stencil and the Hot Spots Stencil. I added a couple of frames from the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate and the Oh My Word – Thank You stamp and die stamped in Versamark on Oreo and heat embossed in white.
That’s it for me today! Be sure to RUN to Taylored Expressions and get your kit!!!
