Happy Tuesday everyone! Today Taylored Expressions is dropping a gorgeous new cardstock and ink color – Gumdrop. I LOVE this color! It’s a gorgeous true blue green with a slightly muted tone and it’s perfect.
My first card uses the Gumdrop cardstock as the centerpiece. I did unfortunately grab a retired background stamp, Fineline Vines background, (I need to sort my stamps!) but you could easily swap it out for Gathered Greenery background stamp if you have it. I stamped this on Gumdrop with Sugar Cube ink using my MISTI and then I heat set it. To color in some of the leaves I smooshed the Gumdrop ink pad on my glass board and added a few drops of rubbing alcohol and painted in the leaves with a paintbrush and the Gumdrop ink. It worked perfect! The ink on the board does dry pretty quickly so I just kept refreshing it with more alcohol. The bottom edge was then trimmed with the Easy Edger die. I stamped Oh My Word Thank You on Sugar Cube with Versamark and heat embossed with Rose Gold Embossing Powder and then die cut with the coordinating die. I finished by adding a tiny heart from Little Bits – Wonky Hearts.
The second card I made features Gumdrop Ink. I cut a piece of Sugar Cube to 3 7/8″ to 5 1/8″ and then inked the bottom corner with Gumdrop and faded it out to Kiwi then out to white. I die cut some flowers from Garden Variety using Guava, Sweet Corn, Sweet Potato Pie, Honey, and Dill Pickle Cardstock. The stamped sentiment is from Mini Strips Stamp – Hello Add Ons and the HI letters are from Stitched Alpha Die Set and cut from Black Licorice cardstock.
Tell me what you think. I'd love to hear from you!!!
