Good morning! I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday. It’s been SO hot here in KC and I discovered yesterday the AC wasn’t working in my classroom (EW)! Thankfully we aren’t back in session for another week – I just went up to get my room set back up after summer cleaning.
Back on topic, lol. Today I have a couple of cards to share with you using new Halloween goodies from Taylored Expressions. My first project uses one of my FAVORITE Taylored Expressions products – a Create in Quads stencil! This new stencil set features just what you need to create a variety of Halloween cards. I focused on using the ghost panel of the CIQ stencil. I inked everything up with Plum Punch, Bubblegum, Poppy Seed and Pear ink. After trimming the ghost panel I embossed with the coordinating 3-D embossing folder – Boo Crew Embossing Folder. Make sure when you use a 3-D embossing folder you spritz the back of the paper lightly with rubbing alcohol or water to soften the paper fibers before running it through the machine. (I tried alcohol one day because my water spritzer was empty and I think I like it better for this task!)
After creating the background I die cut a frame using A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate and Poppy Seed cardstock. I cut the cat and bat from Ghost Hugs Dress Up Die and Clear Combo. I added a little tone on tone ink and gel pen accents to dress them up a bit. I added a vellum layer underneath along with EEK! and BOO! from Spooky Sayings stamp set and coordinating die.

My second card features a new additions to the Postmarked collection: Postmarked Spooky Season Layering Stencil, Posted Marked Spooky Season 3D embossing folder and a Postmarked Spooky Season Foil It.
I started my card by foiling the Foil It with TE’s black Fun Foil. (I love this foil for the times when I want the details and shine but not metallic sparkle.) Next I inked the stencils with Sweet Potato, Lime Zest, Jelly Donut, Sweet Corn and Cookie Monster ink and TE’s blender brushes. On the last layer of the stencil instead of using just one color I blended the green, blue and purple inks. After inking I embossed with the coordinating embossing folder. I trimmed this panel and matted it with Cookie Monster cardstock and matted it again with Jelly Donut cardstock cut with A2 Large Scallop Stacklets. I added a sentiment from Spooky Saying die cut with the coordinating die and layered on a Cookie Monster and Jelly Donut circle stack.
